The Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria anchors one of Africa's most strategically important bilateral relationships. Nigeria and South Africa are the continent's two largest economies; the relationship covers African Union and South-South diplomatic coordination, substantial bilateral trade and investment (MTN, Multichoice, Shoprite among major South African investments in Nigeria; Dangote, GTBank and others on the Nigerian side), and a substantial Nigerian community resident in South Africa. The High Commission is supported by the Nigerian Consulate-General in Johannesburg.
